The Langham, Chicago Hosts James Beard Celebrity Chef Tour

What: In celebrating the James Beard Awards’ inaugural debut in Chicago, the chefs of The Langham, Chicago partners with the James Beard Foundation to host a Celebrity Chef Tour dinner.

Where: The Langham, Chicago {330 N. Wabash Ave.}

When: Thursday, April 16, 2015 beginning at 6:30pm

Details: The Langham hotel’s Executive Chef Anthony Zamora, along with Travelle’s Chef Tim Graham and Pastry Chef Scott Green, create an inventive six-course menu in collaboration with past and present award-winning and nominated Chicago-based chefs including:
Chef Chris Pandel of Balena, The Bristol, and Formeto’s
Chef Giuseppe Tentori of GT Fish & Oyster
Chef Paul Virant of Perennial Virant and Vie Restaurant
Chef Andrew Zimmerman of Sepia.

Beginning at 6:30 p.m., Chicagoans are invited to enjoy a reception with wines presented by E&J Gallo Winery. Following the reception, diners are invited into the Devonshire Ballroom where the night of culinary excellence begins at 7:30 p.m.

“We’re thrilled to celebrate the James Beard Foundation’s arrival to Chicago this year and wanted to show our excitement by inviting some of our closest colleagues in the industry to create a meal honoring the James Beard Foundation Awards Ceremony and Gala Reception,” Chef Zamora says.

For the first time in its history, the James Beard Awards Ceremony, celebrating its 25th anniversary on May 4, 2015 at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, is being hosted outside New York City. The Langham, Chicago celebrates the “Oscars of the Food Industry” and this moment in culinary history by presenting guests an opportunity to enjoy dishes from Chicago-based chefs participating in the main event.
