“I am thrilled to announce the Room for Hope campaign to raise money to support our neighbor, Lurie Children’s,” said Doug Dean, general manager, Hyatt Chicago Magnificent Mile. “Hyatt’s mission is to provide authentic hospitality by making a difference in the lives of the people we touch every day. Our entire staff is excited to be a part of the Room for Hope campaign, making it truly an honor to be supporting the efforts that Lurie Children’s puts forth each and every day.”

With the giving season upon us, there is no better time to spread the good news of Hyatt Chicago Magnificent Mile announcing first-of-its-kind hotel partnership with Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital. This year long campaign, Room for Hope, aims to raise $15,000 to support Lurie Children’s Hospital. This amazing campaign generously gives $100 of the proceeds per night directly to Lurie Children’s when guests book the Room for Hope suite. Additionally, for every 50 nights the Room for Hope suite is booked, Hyatt Chicago Magnificent Mile will donate five room nights to Lurie Children’s for use by a patient’s family. Hyatt Chicago Magnificent Mile is located right across the street from Lurie and understands the importance of parents and family members staying near their loved ones during treatment, knowing that is not always easy or close to home, this campaign will also help open up their doors to families in need of a place to stay.

“Beyond our own personal mission, we want to set an example for our community and guests about the importance of helping our neighbors. Every bit helps to make a huge impact and we are proud to have our entire staff be behind this great cause, and I am consistently touched by the support and interest from our guests to be a part of Room for Hope,” says Doug Dean, General Manager at Hyatt Chicago Magnificent Mile.

We encourage our readers to book a stay in the Room for Hope suite, book it for a friend or family for a Holiday gift, and spread the word to those coming in from out of town. Thanks to Doug Dean, General Manager at Hyatt Chicago Magnificent Mile, for answering a few of our questions regarding their generous mission!

Can you explain in detail the round-up-the change program at Level Two?

DD: Level Two is also supporting this great campaign to support Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago through Change for Hope. Visitors and locals alike can eat well and do good at Level Two helping to make a difference and save lives at this amazing neighbor institution.

Level Two’s participation through Change for Hope offers patrons two ways to participate in making a difference to benefit Lurie Children’s Hospital. The first way is to purchase a special dessert with proceeds going to directly benefit Lurie Children’s Hospital. The second is an extra line on the bill, which allows patrons who wish to contribute to this great cause by rounding up their change. The amount that is rounded up will go directly to Lurie Children’s Hospital.

Beyond raising money for such a great cause, how else do you hope this mission impacts the community? What do you hope hotel guests and employees take away from seeing this great gesture?

DD: Our mission at Hyatt is to provide authentic hospitality by making a difference in the lives of the people we touch every day. The entire staff is thrilled to be a part of the Room for Hope campaign, and are honored to be supporting the efforts that Lurie Children’s Hospital puts forth each and every day.

Beyond our own personal mission, we want to set an example for our community and guests about the importance of helping our neighbors. Every bit helps to make a huge impact and we are proud to have our entire staff be behind this great cause, and I am consistently touched by the support and interest from our guests to be a part of Room for Hope.

Rarely do you see great deeds like this go for such an extended period of time. This is amazing! Why did Hyatt Chicago Magnificent Mile choose to do a year-long program?

DD: When we were in planning stages of this partnership with Lurie Children’s Hospital, we knew right away that we wanted this to be a year-long campaign. We knew that having a shorter campaign would not due Lurie Children’s Hospital justice, and would not allow us to fully maximize our efforts on building awareness of such an important organization that does so much good to positively impact their patients and their families’ lives.

Hyatt Chicago Magnificent Mile recently celebrated its one year anniversary of a $25 million renovation that transformed the hotel’s 419 guest rooms, including 96 upgraded corner king guest rooms and executive suites, meeting space, lobby, indoor pool, and fitness center into the perfect destination for both leisure and business travelers.

Guests who book the Room for Hope suite will enjoy special in-room elements such as framed artwork by Lurie Children’s patients, photos of Lurie Children’s patients and their personal stories, a special Lurie Children’s book guests can keep, the opportunity to sign the Room for Hope guestbook, which will be bestowed on the hospital at the culmination of the campaign, and more.

Lurie Children’s, with its 132-year legacy of excellence, is ranked 8th in the nation and the only pediatric hospital in Illinois to be ranked in all 10 specialties by U.S. News & World Report. The hospital is also ranked among the nation’s top ten pediatric hospitals according to an exclusive survey by Parents magazine.
