Let’s Dish: Goddess and the Baker

Goddess and the Baker has taken the concept of neighborhood coffee shop to the next level. Settled in the heart of the city, the shop serves enticing, fresh options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven days a week. Tempting creations delivered in a casual, cozy space add to Goddess and the Baker’s take on a coffee shop-turned-cafe.

Not only does the shop provide guests with a delicious (note the italics on delicious) assortment of baked goods but they are prepared to meet any of your coffee or tea demands — seriously though, you cannot leave without trying one or two or three (no judgments) of their pastries. The shop has certainly brought their “A” game to Chicago’s booming coffee scene, carrying not one, but four coffee roasters on their menu, including: Metropolis Coffee Company; Dark Matter Coffee; Stumptown Coffee Roasters; Metric Coffee Company.

If you are running late for a morning meeting or need a quick pick-me-up before a long shift, stop in and order one of Goddess and the Baker’s espresso beverages including red eyed goddess (coffee with an espresso shot) or better yet, a black widow goddess (4 shots of espresso). If you have the luxury of time, treat yourself to a specialty drink — we recommend their take on horchata, (cold brew, cinnamon, rice milk, lime shaken over ice) it’s too good to pass up!

Not only is Goddess and the Baker a go-to coffee shop but also, a go-to any-meal-of-the-day spot. With a prime selection of breakfast options — breakfast burritos and yogurt parfaits; lunch/dinner options — soups, salads, and sandwiches, galore; and dessert options — the new, quaint establishment has it all, not to mention a beer and wine list.

Despite the hustle and bustle of Wabash Avenue, Goddess and the Baker provides the neighborhood coffee shop experience. Ample seating serves those meeting for a business lunch or enjoying a coffee date. The atmosphere is casual; guests are invited to order at the cash register, take a number then sit and wait for their selection.

In addition to their various menu selections, Goddess and the Baker also serves as a market with a variety of to-go goods or market product.

Goddess and the Baker and Goddess and the Grocer now offer a loyalty program to benefit their frequent visitors. Check out their website for more details, you don’t want to miss out!
