Date Night Chicago: Rockit Ranch Style

Dinner is said to be the cornerstone of a date, but in a city like Chicago, how do you decide where to go? We know the overwhelming feeling of googleing “best dates in Chicago,” and coming out of the search even more confused then we were in the beginning. Thanks to Rockit Ranch Productions, we were able to break it down for you, and trust us, with these places you can’t go wrong.

Rockit Burger Bar#BurgerLab (7pm on Saturdays)
· Rockit Burger Bar offers a fantastic foodie date option that works great for first dates or long time loves. Every Saturday night, they host a weekly chef-driven #BurgerLab, which lets lovebirds create their own over-the-top burger creations while giving even the most opposite of couples something to talk about. From 7pm-close each Saturday, couples can check their compatibility while choosing from a rotating selection of exotic meats, unexpected toppings, gourmet buns, and fresh sauces and a side of fries – all for $14. Past toppings have included crispy fried rock shrimp, short rib, sheep’s milk cheese, black truffle shavings, Bison, chorizo, bacon jam, fried jalapeños and more. Vegetarians can find love too with the BBQ Red Bean patty. Those with first date jitters can simply choose the #BurgerLab special of the night. Past specials have included a BFD Burger ( Breakfast for Dinner) with doughnut buns or the Holy Mole Burger with Quesadillas buns. In addition to the fun DIY element of #BurgerLab, the fun atmosphere, great music, and huge selection of seasonal cocktails and craft beers is a recipe for a perfect date.

Bottlefork Absinthe and Malort Flights for a late night date (great for 10pm or later)
· A favorite with some of our Industry friends, Chef Kevin Hickey and Head Barkeep Brandon Phillips decided to create these flights as an easy way to take the intimidation and mystery out of these spirits. It gives guests a chance to taste them side by side and if they like one in particular they can have Brandon whip up a cocktail featuring their favorite.

· Malort Flight: Bottlefork is the only restaurant / bar in Chicago that serves Jeppson’s Malört, Bittermens Bäska Snaps, Letherbee R Franklin’s Bësk and Few Spirits Malort. Each flight will include a taste of all four for $12.

· Absinthe Flight: The Absinthe Flight includes Germain-Robin Superieur Ukiah, North Shore Sirène Verte, Pernod Vieux Pontarlier and Française Supérieure for $20.

SundaMaki Sake Mondays (Maki making class with Sake tutorial the last Monday of each month)
Learn from the pros during a fun and interactive sushi class taking place the last Monday of each month. Kicking off on Monday, January 27, guests can reserve a spot at one of Sunda’s communal tables from 6-6:30pm for a sake pairing lesson and 6:30-7:30pm to learn how to make sushi like a pro. Executive Chef Jess DeGuzman will be on hand to show guests proper sushi technique. While learning how to roll, guests will have a Chef’s Choice roll to snack on and TyKu sake to sip on throughout the demo – all for $45 per person (including tax and gratuity). Tickets:

Ay ChiwowaGuided Tequila Flights
Enjoy a tasting of some of the finest tequilas in the world paired with our housemade Sangrita (A traditional accompaniment while sipping tequila. Ours is made with Ay Chiwowa shrimp stock, onions, worcestershire sauce, fresh lime juice, fresh orange juice and a hint of habanero pepper) to excite and complement your palate. First choose a tier, then within each tier, choose one brand per variety (Blanco, Reposado, Añejo, Extra Añejo). Tier 1: $35, Tier 2: $50, Tier 3: $80, Tier 4: $275. Bar Staff is on hand to give background info on some of the brands and help guide choices.
